IT Specialist (Hybrid)

Job Summary: 
The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the organization's technology infrastructure, ensuring that all systems, networks, and devices operate efficiently. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing technical support to employees, and implementing security measures to protect the company's digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to support tickets, diagnose problems, and guide users through step-by-step solutions.
  • System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and hardware. Ensure all systems are updated with the latest patches and security updates.
  • Network Management: Monitor network performance, manage servers, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network performance.
  • Security: Implement and manage security protocols to protect data and systems from cyber threats. Monitor for security breaches, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Manage data backup procedures and ensure data integrity and availability. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of system failures.
  • User Training: Conduct training sessions for employees on new technologies, best practices, and security awareness. Create documentation and guides to help users navigate IT systems.
  • Project Support: Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, such as system upgrades, new installations, and technology rollouts. Work with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of all IT assets, including hardware and software licenses. Track asset lifecycle and ensure proper disposal of outdated equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network management and security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
