Package Development Engineer - Parañaque

Paranaque City, Manila
Job Summary
Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with package design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Conducts and evaluates new product from pilot run to mass production manufacturing. Makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibilities
1.0 Process Set-up and Development
1.1 Process Parameter Optimization
1.1.1 Optimizes process parameters by experimental designs, process variable definitions and robust design engineering for new packages or continuous improvement.

1.2 Improvement of Existing Methods and Conception of New Methods
1.2.1 Conceives, sources out and tests alternative and new methods/processes to improve manufacturability, yield, and quality.
1.2.2 Spearheads generation of FMEA for new Assembly processes and reviews until completion of qualification.

1.3 Equipment Qualification and Development
1.3.1 Designs and/or qualifies jigs, fixtures, and tools to enhance machine efficiency and improve product quality.
1.3.2 Generates and/or reviews equipment specifications and qualification procedures, and supporting documents
for PAR of new equipment.
1.3.3 Spearheads machine qualification and monitoring, and/or conducts equipment buy-off at supplier site. Recommends machine modifications whenever necessary.

1.4 Material Development
1.4.1 Sources out, evaluates and recommends alternative materials to reduce cost, enhance quality, and improve manufacturability.

1.5 Product Development
1.5.1 Determines machine and process capability for new products.
1.5.2 Ensures that engineering lots for new devices and packages are assembled in conformance to all requirements and process concerns are reported.

2.0Cost Reduction and Yield Improvement
2.1 Plans, designs, implements and monitors activities geared to improve product and material yield, reduce production cost and/or reduce product reliability defects.

3.0 Standardization and Documentation
3.1 Generates, interprets, and updates process and material specifications and flowcharts for new package projects.
3.2 Interprets quality inspection criteria and specifications.
3.3 Prepares technical reports on the results of evaluations and investigations, and presents recommended actions.

4.0 Training
4.1 Conducts process training for new Engineers and Technicians.
4.2 Provides initial training to production personnel on new processes.

5.0 Coordination/Communication of Process Issues for Improved Quality, Manufacturability and Reliability.
5.1 Coordinates quality, manufacturability, process control and reliability issues with internal and external customers.
5.2 Facilitates discussion of material and equipment quality and performance issues with supplier/s.

6.0 Other Duties
6.1 Prepares weekly/monthly highlights of all projects and activities made. Monitors projects and activities to

6.3 Performs other related duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior.

Minimum Requirements
 Degree in Electrical / Electronics and Communication / Mechanical / Materials / Metallurgical / Chemical / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering
 At least 3 years experience in the same capacity in a semicon setting.
